ABOUT

My name is Kate, I'm an independent designer making illustrated nail art, temporary tattoos, prints, cards, eco-friendly recycled stationary and handmade gifts. I'm a one woman small business, working full time from my home studio in Otley, West Yorkshire, UK.

I started my illustration business back in 2008 and over the years I've been inspired by birds, animals, plants, allotments, gardening, nature, crafts, cocktails, food and retro furniture. Basically I just draw things I like!

I have always made things, as far back as I can remember I have been drawing, painting, sewing, knitting and a whole lot of other stuff besides. I grew up next to the river Otley, West Yorkshire where I did a lot of walking in woods, paddling in rivers, and birdwatching. This is where my love of wildlife began and since then it seems to have been a prevailing influence on my work.

I graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2004 with a degree in Textile Design. In 2009 I started selling my work online and began doing local craft fairs in Nottingham. I gradually added to my product range and gained some fantastic stockists both in the UK and overseas. I’m now based back in my home town of Otley and love being closer to the countryside!
